| This is a photographic record of the 3.25 hours I spent travelling up & down the 2ft - 6in gauge Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway on Saturday 3rd September 2005. My two companions were my former working colleague, garden railwayman and 16mm Scale Association member Brian Hayes and his young grandson Tom Hayes.
I usually try to attend the Weekend Gala on both days, riding the trains on the Saturday and photographing trains from the lineside on the Sunday. This year, as in 2004, other duties elsewhere limited my visit to a single, long afternoon on one day only. All the pictures are therefore taken at or very near one of the W&L's stations, those chosen being the outer termini and the two passing loops in use during my visit. They were taken with a Fuji Finepix S602z digital camera which I bought new in the Summer of 2002. The original images have been duplicated, resized and cropped as necessary using Paint Shop Pro 8. Eddie Bellass, 05 September 2005. ---------------------------------------------- To view each picture individually at full size: Click on the first thumbnail image ... 0001_2005_Gala_Title_page.jpg ... to open it to a viewable 600 X 450 size. If you go to the bottom of the first image's page you will see a row of optional facilities, including 'Slide Show' and 'Full size'. Clicking on the first option should start the slide show running with all pictures at the default size of 600 X 450 pixels. If you click on 'Full Size' the pictures should open individually at my own monitor screen’s size, i.e. 1024 X 768 pixels. If they appear rather smaller, hover your cursor over the white space at the RH side then move it back into the picture itself. A coloured rectangle with 4 diagonal arrows will appear in the bottom right corner of the image. Click on this and the picture should fill out to 1024 X 768. When in Slide Show mode, each picture will remain on screen for between 10 and 14 seconds. There is a facility to scroll back for another look at the previous slide(s) or to advance to view later slides if you wish to. |
