On Saturday 10th February 2007 the preserved LMS 4-6-2 'Princess Elizabeth' hauled 'The Merseyside Express' special charter train between London and Liverpool from Bescot to Liverpool and back to Bescot.

With no locomotive turning facilities available at Liverpool at the time, 6201 ran eastwards the 16 miles to Newton-le-Willows where it turned around on the triangle at the town's 3-sided Earlestown station.

The 8 pictures in this small album show Princess Elizabeth running through Earlestown station's south to west Platform 3, from where - after a brief signal stop - it returned to Liverpool tender-first.
